As we find ourselves fast approaching the middle of the year, it may be useful to reflect upon the vision for outcomes that you created at the beginning of the year. Let’s ensure that your steps to accomplishment are on track.

A vision of possibilities is essential to achievement. Just check that you have defined your vision for this year fully. Many people find it valuable to create a vision board and stick it in a prominent place as a constant reminder of the being, doing and having that they are seeking. Likewise, the regular re-affirmation of the vision (preferably on a daily basis) is an essential catalyst for its realisation.

But that is not enough. We often see chiropractors who have elegantly created their vision, they are really sold on affirmations, but that is where it all stops. They wonder why nothing manifests from there. There is a famous saying “Faith without action serves no useful purpose”. How true!

Affirmations can be a great tool to create action, but as the saying goes, the only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary. There is a very thin line between faith and folly. Affirmations without action can be the beginnings of self-delusion. And for you and your practice’s wellbeing, there is little worse than self-delusion.

I often reflect on the Dalai Lama’s Instructions for the Millennium. “Take into account that great love and great achievements involve great risk”. The risky steps of standing up for your vision, rolling up your sleeves and getting into action is what will dramatically increase your chances of bringing your vision about this year.

This week, embrace the risk and commit to 3 action steps that you can take to solidify and materialize your dreams. It may be better clinical results. If so, what are you doing about it? It may be better communication skills. If so, what are you doing about it? It may be increasing your practice volume. If so, what are your action steps? It may be a myriad of growth and development dreams.

What are you doing about them?
