Dangerous Idea

This past week we have seen the annual ‘Festival of Dangerous Ideas’ feature in Sydney. On reviewing the content of some of the speakers I wondered, where are the chiropractors?

If any idea is dangerous to the status quo of society right now it is chiropractic.

How dangerous the chiropractic idea is may be evidenced by the vicious attacks, misinformation and attempts to contain the chiropractic profession that have escalated in recent time. The continuous volleys of fire that are being shot from numerous areas of the establishment are indicative of a well-entrenched fear of the chiropractic premise. We witness renegade medical groups like FOSM and the Skeptics, political parties, associations, universities (medical and chiropractic) and even the regulators resorting to no holds barred strategies to eradicate the chiropractic idea.

What are they afraid of? What is so dangerous about the Big Idea that chiropractic espouses? Why are many chiropractors trying to distance themselves from this? Why are associations and universities trying to sanitize the profession and reduce it to a physical modality?

The simple and yet big idea that chiropractic subscribes to as represented by the acronym ADIO (Above, Down, Inside, Out) is such a threat to our current western Outside/In worldview. Health, education, law, politics and associated industries are bound to this Outside/In idea.

Will this be the case forever? – NO, in the words of Frederick Douglass, who interestingly passed the mortal torch in the year of the discovery of chiropractic, 1895 said it this way “When a great truth once gets abroad in the world, no power on earth can imprison it, or prescribe its limits, or suppress it. It is bound to go on till it becomes the thought of the world.”

The time for the integration of ADIO is fast approaching. We are seeing the desperate attempts of the establishment to suppress this dangerous idea but it will be all in vain. We are seeing shifts in all areas of society towards the acceptance of the natural laws of which chiropractic has embraced for over 120 years.

The big question right now though is – What are YOU doing about supporting this dangerous idea – chiropractic?

Is it moral to hold back from speaking out?

Dr. Patrick Gentempo, a champion of the chiropractic cause stated, “Everyone, on some scale of life, is compelled to be an intellectual force. They must think. They must value. They must act. Avoidance of such is the very nature of depravity and the root of society’s ills.” Patrick has just released a FREE VIDEO series that addresses this subject – Check it out.

The time has come for chiropractors to own its dangerous idea, drive the science that supports that, deliver the application of it in their practices and support the education and politics that express it.

Maybe next year there will be a chiropractor featuring in the Festival of Dangerous Ideas.
